VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY OF MOBILE APPLICATIONS IN PHYSICAL THERAPY: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

Introduction: The importance of the use mobile applications in health practice have grown increasingly over years. There is a need to assess if these can be validly and reliably used clinical setting as are critical measures that evaluate quality effectiveness tool improve delivery care physical therapy practice. This systematic review aimed identify synthesize existing studies on evidence concurrent validity intra-rater, inter-rater, test-retest reliability therapy. Methods: A literature search was conducted nine databases: Web Science®, PubMed®, Science Direct, Scopus®, Proquest, MEDLINE®, SPORTDiscus, CINAHL articles from inception November 2021. Mendeley, Endnote Rayyan were for data management screening. methodological all included critically appraised using Brink Louw Critical Appraisal Tool (CAT). Results: Overall, 28 study. 17 assessed both reliability, 10 only 1 validity. apps categorized into: range motion, balance, postural, sit-to-stand, gait. Out studies, assessment scores show 4 considered poor quality, while 24 good. Discussion: number demonstrated valid reliable joint motion assessment, functional activity (i.e., sit stand) postural assessment. However, there wide results measuring balance gait; further research regarding their psychometric properties needed.
